Year 3 conducted a very interesting experiment to find out why Icarus really fell from the sky. We set up our 'wings' made from feathers and melted wax in four different sets of conditions and then observed what happened in each of these conditions. We were shocked at our results! 

Year 3 hosted a Greek day today! We came into school dressed up as Greek Gods and Goddesses! We enjoyed a Greek feast and participated in many Greek activities like writing our own myths and the Greek Olympics! 

Year 3 invited their parents in as part of our 'express' element of our topic. During this event we wanted to present our parents with the work we had produced and they key facts we had found out about the Ancient Greeks. 

David Brooks came to visit our school and talked to the children about ways in which we can keep ourselves safe online. We talked about dangers which are out there and what is meant by personal information. We found the session really interesting! 

Year 3 have been celebrating Chinese New Year this week. We created our own Chinese dragons and lanterns to help bring in the Year of the Monkey! 

Year 3 have really enjoyed their clarinet lessons which have been taking place every Thursday! We have had so much fun and are beginning to play different notes independently! 

Year 3 have been using clay to create their own Greek plates! We looked for design ideas and then created our own. We used sticks to carve our patterns and pictures into the clay. We are waiting for our clay to dry so we can paint our plates! Watch out for updates on Twitter @BoarshawP 

Year 3 created a Greek dance to please the Gods and Goddesses of Ancient Greece! They decided to use the famous myth of Theseus and Minotaur and performed their dances to music!
