In Year 2 this half term our topic is the Scented Garden. This week we have been learning about plants and we visited the school sensory garden to look at the Spring flowers. We will be learning about plants and how they grow through our science lessons. We we able to label the parts of a plant and discuss the best habitat for a plant.

As part of this topic we will be learning about the traditional tale 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and creating some non fiction texts all about plants. We will be learning about labelled diagrams and how to create non-fiction texts. 

We are also hoping to visit the local allotment and take part in planting. As we have our own school area at the allotment with a polytunnel. We think this topic is going to be fun!
