On Friday 11th March, the children learnt about the importance of Fair trade. Their first activity was to find where certain fair trade produce came from and then to cover the area on a world map with that produce. The children used coffee, cocoa powder, sugar, tea leaves and raisins. The end result was quite spectacular and gave a clear indication of where most fair trade produce comes from and that these are some of the hottest and poorest countries in the world. The children then went onto make a Fair Trade leaflet which explained everything they had learnt about fair trade. Later on in the day the children made some yummy chocolate Rocky Roads, which were made with Fair trade chocolate. Hopefully they learnt alot and the importance of fair trade as well as having fun.
