Welcome to Boarshaw Primary School.

Boarshaw Primary is a thriving Primary school in Middleton, Manchester. Our most recent Ofsted in October 2022 recognised Boarshaw Primary as

“a welcoming, friendly school where pupils feel safe, achieve well and are happy.”  OFSTED 2022

We have 16 classes; 2 for each year group (Reception to Year 6), a 26 place Nursery and a 24 place Designated SEN unit for children with Speech, Communication and Language Needs – SCLN.

Our fantastic pupils are friendly, caring, hardworking and eager to learn.  Our school offers a safe and stimulating environment. We have high expectations for staff and pupils alike and through high quality teaching, individually tailored support and encouragement we aim to ensure that all pupils are academically successful and are well prepared for life in modern Britain.  Children make good progress from their starting points and we are proud of their achievements. (LINK TO 2024 RESULTS)  Our teachers are dedicated to bringing learning alive for children and work hard to make lessons engaging. We believe that learning and teaching should be creative, purposeful and challenging.

“ Leaders have designed an appropriately ambitious and broad curriculum that is carefully thought out to meet pupils’ needs and interests.”  OFSTED 2022

We aim to equip each child with the skills they need for lifelong learning. We see each child as an individual and aim to develop confident learners who take ownership of their learning and are proud of their achievements. Our Curriculum pages (LINK) will provide you with information about our delivery of the National Curriculum, the exciting topics covered in each year group, how we enrich our curriculum and how we embed British values in all we do.

Our pupils are well behaved and proud of their school.  Our pupils recognize that ‘Every Moment Matters, they are kind and respectful; and seek to be ‘Boarshaw Brilliant’ in all they do.

“Pupils, including children in the early years, behave well. Little learning time is lost. Pupils are keen to learn. They listen well and join in enthusiastically in lessons. Pupils conduct themselves well round school, at playtimes and in lessons. Pupils have a respectful understanding of difference. They are tolerant of others and keen to celebrate difference..”  OFSTED 2022

See the school Behaviour Management Policy (LINK) for further details regarding behavior at Boarshaw Primary.

OUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE.

We are always seeking to improve our work, the overview of our Self Evaluation Statement (LINK) and our School Development Plan provides brief information about our strengths and weaknesses and our current improvement priorities.

This year we are focusing particularly on improving our love of reading. By reading and listening to more challenging books our vocabulary will improve, empowering us to confidently share our ideas and opinions for a range of purposes and with a range of audiences.

Through this site and our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram feeds, I hope that you begin to get a real sense of what an amazing school Boarshaw Primary is. I hope that you enjoy exploring our website and want to come and experience the magic that is Boarshaw Primary yourself.

Should you wish to come and visit us please contact Catherine or Liz in the school office on 0161 653 9536 or email office@boarshawprimary.co.uk.

We would be thrilled to show you around and answer any questions you might have.

I look forward to meeting you.

Best wishes
